Fully Transparent Solar

The upper plate is made from acrylic glass. The displacer piston is finished with a special "high emissivity"coating.

High energy light (sunlight or light from a lamp) is converted to heat upon reaching the displacer piston. This again heats the internal which then drives the engine for as long as the engine is placed in the sunshine.

Both the "Fully Transparent Solar Stirling Engine" and the "Stainless Steel Solar Stirling Engine" are very much alike. The only difference is the bottom plate. The acrylic glass bottom plate allows to watch the moving parts even from below, while the stainless steel bottom plate heats up faster in case the engine is driven from a heat source below.

Both engines run at the same speeds once they have reached their operating temperatures.

Both engines can be operated just like our non-solar-engines by heating them from below which just reverses the flywheel's direction of rotation.
